What Could The Chewy Acquisition of Modern Animal Mean For You Pet's Care
Because this isn’t really about Chewy or Modern Animal.
It’s about the kind of care your dog gets… and the kind of support you feel along the way. And someone who cares in a way a corporate driven entity cannot.
You can absolutely go the corporate route. Some of you may have little choice in the matter, based on your location.
It’s convenient.
It’s structured.
It looks like everything is “handled.”
Info is pushed to you. Info is delivered to you. And you like the convenience of that.
But what I hear every single week from pet parents is this:
“I just don’t feel like anyone is really seeing the whole picture.”
And they’re right.
Because the whole picture isn’t just your dog.
It’s you, too.
When you work with me… I’m not just learning your dog’s symptoms.
I’m getting to know:
how you make decisions
what you’re comfortable with
what you’ve already tried (and what you’re honestly tired of trying)
what your day-to-day life actually looks like
Because there is no “perfect plan” if it doesn’t fit your real life.
And here’s where I’m a little different…
I’m not here to push one way of doing things.
I’m not driven by quotas and profits.
You’re going to get:
options
alternatives
real, unbiased opinions
honest feedback when something doesn’t make sense
If something is a waste of your time or money… I’ll tell you.
If something is worth trying but needs to be done differently… I’ll show you how.
Even if need to loop in or refer out to a holistic vet, we’re going to do that!
If something feels overwhelming… we slow it down.
Because this work?
It’s not just protocols and products.
There’s emotion in it.
There’s frustration…
there’s guilt…
there’s that feeling of “why can’t I figure this out?”
And I don’t brush past that.
I sit in it with you… and then we move forward with a plan that actually feels doable.
You also get something that corporate care simply cannot offer:
Time.
Time to ask questions.
Time to think things through.
Time to adjust when your dog throws us a curveball (because they will).
Not:
“Try this and we’ll see you later.”
But:
“Let’s walk through this together and figure out what makes the most sense next.”
And the relationship piece?
That’s where the real progress happens.
Because when I know your dog…
and I know you…
I can connect dots that don’t show up on a chart.
I can see patterns before they become problems.
I can help you make decisions with confidence instead of second-guessing everything.
Corporate care is built to be efficient.
What I do is built with heart, experience, and intention.
It’s not rushed.
It’s not one-size-fits-all.
It’s not based on what works “on average.”
It’s based on your dog… in your life… with your goals.
If you’ve been feeling like you’re piecing things together on your own…
Or like you’re doing “all the things” but not getting anywhere…
That’s usually the moment where having someone in your corner changes everything.
Not just for your dog.
But for how you feel showing up for them every day.
No, I cannot offer you the same things your vet offers — prescriptions, surgical procedures, dianostic labs, etc. But I can offer you something that helps bridge that relationship and puts your dog first instead of the corporation. We need veterinarians that are thinkers, open minded and collaborative — some exist — but corporations are making that harder.
I will tell you I cringe a little everytime I see the box show up on my neighbor’s door — because it means even though I live right next door, we’re missing the mark on getting holistic info about healthy food, reduced toxins, customized wellness strategies, etc to even people we know! There’s something about the “big names” that people buy into.
