I’ve been looking into travel with my dogs. As a solo traveler, I’m terrified of leaving the dogs to even run into a convenience store in the heat. As I consider a travel camper, this is also top of mind.
When I was training a few years ago, I had one of these in the building, but also tried it in my SUV when we were out training. It didn’t work well in my SUV.
So I reached out to see about improved technology. It seems it has improved and I’m going to give it a try when I get my trip together.
Our newer Waggle devices are designed to work well in a variety of smaller spaces, including SUVs, conversion vans, teardrop campers, and trainer vans. They can be a great solution for solo travelers who want peace of mind while stepping away briefly for a convenience store stop or rest break.
Regarding the high temperature readings you experienced in the past, direct sunlight can affect any temperature sensor if the device is mounted where it receives prolonged sun exposure. For the most accurate readings, we recommend placing the monitor:
Away from direct sunlight
Out of range of air vents, heaters, or windows
At pet level, where your dogs spend most of their time
Our latest models also feature improved sensors, updated firmware, and enhanced connectivity to provide more reliable monitoring.
As long as your vehicle or camper has adequate cellular coverage, the device will continue to monitor temperature, humidity, and power status and send alerts directly to your phone if conditions change.
