The Week In Review
What you might have missed last week.
Hey there —
This week brought up a handful of situations I see all the time — and a few that catch people completely off guard.
If you have a dog, these are worth a few minutes of your time.
🐸 Frog exposure + first aid
Harvey found a baby frog… and within seconds we were dealing with drooling and possible toxin exposure.
There’s no warning with this stuff.
You either know what to do… or you’re scrambling.
👉 I walked through exactly what I did in the moment
⚠️ Flea & tick meds + seizures + birds
We’re seeing more conversations around neurological side effects — and honestly, it’s overdue.
If your dog has ever had even a mild reaction, don’t ignore it.
These don’t always stay mild.
Better yet — just go natural with your flea and tick approach. We have been natural for years.
👉 What I want you to watch for (and think about differently)
Did you also know that flea and tick meds are being found in children? waterways? birds nests with dead baby birds? It’s a big deal friends and time we make a change.
🚨 Seizures — look beyond the episode
Toxins. Medications. Nervous system overload.
If you only respond to the event, you miss what’s driving it.
👉 I’ve been working on Harvey’s seizures since last June. Thank God we’re in our longest stretch without them ever! Still doing detox work (especially Heavy Metals after testing) and supportive efforts. I even convinced my vet to offer me something she hadn’t considered before…
If you know someone dealing with seizures — I’d love to help them out!
My seizure guide is available for members!
🧠 When dogs stop using their nose
I realized Harvey didn’t know how to forage.
He watched the food fall… and only ate what he saw.
No searching. No sniffing.
That’s not a small thing.
So we went back to basics — and it changed more than I expected.
👉 Why this matters for behavior and nervous system health
💊 Zenrelia — don’t skip this
There are some important safety considerations here — especially around immune response and vaccines most people are never told.
You have alternatives with natrual allergies approaches. I can help!
Also I’d skip the Apoquel and Cytopoint.
👉 What stood out (and why it matters)
My allergy guide is available for members
🐾 Do dogs go to heaven?
Not a training post. Not a nutrition post.
Just something a lot of dog parents think about… whether they say it out loud or not.
🦟 Heartworm meds — it’s not time yet
This isn’t about the calendar. It’s about temperature… and understanding the lifecycle.
Most people start too early and repeat too often.
👉 I put together a simple download so you can get this right
🎙️ New podcast is live
Daniela Angelone of Barks and Blooms NC joined us last week to discuss choosing a great pet sitter — what to look for and what makes a good one!
